What Is Cyanide IPA?

Cyanide is an iPhone and iPad customization application built using the DarkSword kernel exploit.

It allows users to modify supported iOS features without installing a traditional jailbreak.

Cyanide includes an installer-style interface where users can explore available tweaks and apply them to their devices.

The application supports features such as custom Home Screen layouts, icon changes, status bar customization and system interface tools.

Unlike Sileo or Cydia, Cyanide does not require a full jailbreak environment to apply its supported tweaks.

Most Cyanide tweaks work in memory and are removed after a respring or device restart. Some individual features may have different behavior.

Cyanide supports compatible devices running iOS 17.0 through iOS 18.7.1, or iOS 26.0 through iOS 26.0.1.

The original project was developed by 0xjohnnydev. Its repository was archived in August 2026.

Development continues through separate forks, including the kolbicz version.

The maintained Cyanide v1.11.0 release adds more system customization tools, an improved file browser and other features.

Cyanide is still an experimental tool. Some tweaks can cause SpringBoard crashes, unexpected restarts or temporary system problems.

Always check your iOS version before installing Cyanide.

Apply iOS Tweaks Without Jailbreak

Explore supported SpringBoard, status bar and interface tweaks through Cyanide. Many changes can be applied directly without installing Sileo or Cydia.

Advanced iOS Tools

The maintained Cyanide fork includes file browsing, cache cleaning and additional utilities. Version 1.11.0 also introduces tools such as Wallet Card Art and a JIT Enabler for compatible setups.

How to Download and Install Cyanide IPA on iPhone

Cyanide can be installed on compatible iPhones and iPads without a traditional jailbreak.

Before downloading, check your iOS version and make sure your device supports the DarkSword-based customization method.

Installation steps:

  14. Follow the instructions to apply the selected change.
  15. Check your Home Screen or system interface to see the result.

How to install Cyanide without a computer

If you already have a compatible on-device IPA installation method, you may be able to install Cyanide directly.

Otherwise, you can use a supported computer-based signing tool to install the IPA.

Does Cyanide require a jailbreak?

No. Cyanide uses the DarkSword kernel exploit to apply supported changes without installing a full jailbreak.

Important: Avoid installing several experimental tweaks together. Start with one supported tweak and confirm it works before applying another.

Back up important data before using kernel-based customization tools.

Cyanide Features and Supported iOS Versions

Cyanide offers different customization and system tools for supported iPhones and iPads.

Home Screen Customization

Use supported tweaks to change app icon sizes, Home Screen spacing, dock settings and layout options.

Status Bar Tweaks

Customize supported status bar features using available packages and settings.

SpringBoard Customization

Cyanide includes tweaks that change selected parts of the iPhone interface, including the app switcher and other visual elements.

JavaScript Tweaks

Supported iOS Versions

  1. iOS 17.0–17.7.x: Within the developer's supported iOS 17 range.
  2. iOS 18.0–18.7.1: Supported on compatible devices.
  3. iOS 18.7.2 and later in the iOS 18 family: Not supported.
  4. iOS 26.0–26.0.1: Supported on compatible devices.
  5. iOS 26.1 and later: Not supported.
  6. iOS 27: Not supported.

Supported Devices

Cyanide supports compatible iPhones and iPads running the listed firmware, excluding A19 and M5 devices.

The maintained fork reports successful testing on iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18.5, iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17.3.1 and selected M-series iPads.

Important Limitations

Cyanide is not a full jailbreak. It does not install a traditional rootful or rootless jailbreak environment.

Many tweaks are temporary and can disappear after a respring or reboot.

Some devices, particularly A18 and M4 models, can experience unexpected restarts during exploit attempts.

Cyanide Troubleshooting and Common Problems

If Cyanide is not installing or its tweaks are not working, try these simple checks.

Cyanide IPA Is Not Installing

Make sure the IPA file downloaded completely. Check your signing certificate and installation method.

Cyanide App Is Not Opening

The application signature may have expired, or the installation may be incomplete. Try refreshing or reinstalling the IPA using a trusted method.

Cyanide Says Unsupported Device

Check your processor and iOS version. A19 and M5 devices are not supported by the documented exploit.

Cyanide Is Not Working on iOS 26.1

The required kernel vulnerabilities were patched in iOS 26.1. Cyanide cannot use its documented exploit on this version.

Cyanide Is Not Working on iOS 18.7.2

iOS 18.7.2 contains fixes for the kernel vulnerabilities used by Cyanide. It is outside the supported range.

Tweak Is Not Applying

Check whether the tweak supports your iOS version. Some tweaks work only on particular releases.

Cyanide Tweaks Disappear After Respring

Many Cyanide changes are applied in memory. A respring can remove these changes, requiring them to be applied again.

Cyanide Tweaks Disappear After Restart

Restarting normally clears temporary kernel-based modifications. Open Cyanide again and reapply compatible tweaks if needed.

iPhone Restarts During Exploit

Some devices may experience an exploit failure or kernel panic. If this happens repeatedly, stop attempting the exploit and review the developer's device-specific warnings.

Home Screen Icons Look Wrong

A selected layout tweak may be incompatible with another modification. Disable the affected tweak or restore its original settings.

JavaScript Tweak Is Not Working

Check that the script is compatible with your Cyanide version. Do not run JavaScript files from unknown sources.

SpringBoard Keeps Crashing

An experimental tweak may be causing instability. Avoid repeatedly applying the same tweak and use the available recovery steps.

File Browser Cannot Access a Folder

Some file operations depend on the available exploit permissions. Not every system location or action will work on every device.

Safety Tips

Back up important information before installation. Use trusted IPA files, avoid unknown JavaScript repositories and do not experiment with sensitive system settings on a device containing important data.
