Jobee's Lair

Jobee's Lair is installed on a compatible jailbroken PlayStation 5 using ShadowMount+.

It is not an IPA application and cannot be installed through AltStore or Sideloadly.

Before installing:

You need a PS5 with a compatible jailbreak environment, kstuff, ShadowMount+, and the official Jobee's Lair release.

For its extended file-management functions, the developer also documents an ELF loader on port 9021 or a compatible resident Lapy setup.

How to install Jobee's Lair using USB

1. Confirm that your PS5 has a compatible jailbreak environment.
2. Make sure kstuff and ShadowMount+ are configured correctly.
3. Prepare an exFAT-formatted USB storage device.
4. Open the official Jobee's Lair GitHub releases page.
5. Select the latest version, v0.5.3.
6. Download JobeesLair.exfat.
7. On the USB drive, create a folder named homebrew.
8. Copy JobeesLair.exfat into that folder.
9. Keep the file in its original .exfat format.
10. Connect the USB drive to your PS5.
11. Allow ShadowMount+ to detect and install the application.
12. Check the PS5 Home Screen for the Jobee's Lair icon.
13. Open the app and read the Terms of Use.
14. Select Continue to access the main interface.
15. Open Settings and review your storage and download configuration.
16. Visit the Homebrew section to browse available applications.

How to install Jobee's Lair using FTP

The developer also provides an FTP installation method.

Connect an FTP client to your compatible PS5 and transfer the official image to:

/data/homebrew/JobeesLair.exfat

Use binary transfer mode. ShadowMount+ can then detect the image and install it.

How to update Jobee's Lair

Version 0.4.1 and later include an in-app update system.

When an update appears, select it and choose Download and Install.

The application verifies downloaded update files against GitHub SHA-256 information and supports rollback if the updated application cannot start.

Users running v0.4.0 or earlier must perform a manual update because the title ID changed.

How to use the phone companion

1. Open Jobee's Lair on the PS5.
2. Open Settings.
3. Select Phone Companion & Remote Access.
4. Turn on the companion feature.
5. Create a secure six-digit PIN.
6. Connect your phone to the same trusted Wi-Fi network.
7. Open the local address displayed by Jobee's Lair in your phone's browser.
8. Enter the PIN.
9. Use the available dashboard, download queue and remote functions.

No IPA or separate mobile application is required.

Important: Only download games, applications, backups and other files that you own or have permission to access. The project is a catalog and download utility, not a licensed game distribution service.

Supported PS5 Firmware

The official installation guide specifically documents testing on:

1. PS5 firmware 13.60: Developer-tested using kstuff and ShadowMount+.
2. Other PS5 firmware: May work with compatible environments, but the developer has not confirmed every configuration.
3. Unjailbroken retail PS5: Not supported.

Important Requirements

ShadowMount+ is necessary for the installation workflow.

An ELF loader on port 9021, or a suitable resident Lapy configuration, enables access beyond the application's normal sandbox.

Without the required file access, Jobee's Lair may open but not perform all expected installation and storage functions.

Important Limitations

Jobee's Lair does not jailbreak the PS5.

It does not bypass the need for a compatible homebrew environment.

It does not host or distribute the copyrighted files referenced by external catalogs.

The developer cannot guarantee that every third-party file, package or homebrew application will work on every firmware version.

If Jobee's Lair is not installing, downloading or launching applications correctly, check the following issues.

Jobee's Lair Is Not Installing

Confirm that your console has a compatible jailbreak environment and ShadowMount+ is running.

JobeesLair.exfat Is Not Detected

Check that the file is inside the homebrew folder and has not been renamed or extracted incorrectly.

Jobee's Lair Icon Is Missing

Allow ShadowMount+ to detect the application. Check for another installed image using the same title ID.

Jobee's Lair Opens Without File Access

The ELF loader or resident Lapy environment may not be configured correctly. Without the required access, the application can remain inside its sandbox.

Homebrew Package Says It Is Not a PKG

Update to v0.5.3, which fixes package installation problems affecting certain homebrew projects.

RetroArch or RPCS3 Installation Fails

Version 0.5.3 corrects an issue affecting large package extraction. Update and retry.

Jobee's Lair Says Device Busy

This was addressed in v0.5.3. Install the latest release and restart the application.

Homebrew Installation Is Stuck

Check the current installation status, available storage and whether another large package is being extracted.

Homebrew Application Will Not Start

Open the application's diagnostic information. Where available, use Fix It to review the last launch and compatible file access settings.

A Game Shows Can't Start the Game or App

Not every title is compatible with every PS5 firmware or homebrew environment. Check the game's requirements and the ShadowMount diagnostic information.

Homebrew Search Is Missing

Use v0.5.3 or later, which introduces Homebrew search.

Download Link Is Broken

The original host may be unavailable. Check the source status and use another authorized download location if one exists.

Downloads Are Slow

Check the network connection, source host and configured download-speed limits.

TorBox Is Not Working

Verify your own TorBox account, API key and host support. The integration is optional.

Custom Feed Is Not Loading

Check that the feed URL is accessible and follows the supported JSON format.

Not Enough PS5 Storage

Use the library and Make Room tools to inspect storage usage. Remove only content you have backed up or no longer need.

Phone Companion Is Not Connecting

Make sure the companion is enabled and the phone is connected to the same trusted network.

Phone Companion PIN Is Rejected

Enter the configured six-digit PIN. Repeated failed attempts can temporarily lock access.

Phone Companion Is Not Available While the App Is Closed

The background companion mode is experimental and requires the appropriate helper and loader configuration.

Settings Disappeared After Updating from an Old Version

Moving from v0.4.0 or earlier to the newer title ID can reset certain settings, favorites, feeds and TorBox configuration.

How to Uninstall Jobee's Lair

Remove JobeesLair.exfat from the homebrew directory first, then delete the Home Screen icon.

This order is important because ShadowMount+ may reinstall the icon if the image remains available.

Safety Tips

Use official GitHub releases and avoid unknown modified images.

Keep the phone companion disabled on shared or public networks and use a unique PIN.
