What Is Porthole IPA?
Porthole is an iPhone and iPad application designed to run compatible Windows PC games.
It allows users to bring games they already own from their computer gaming libraries to their Apple devices.
Porthole uses a gaming runtime called Madeira, which combines Wine, FEX, and DXMT.
These technologies help selected Windows programs run on iPhone and iPad hardware.
Users can connect supported stores including Steam, Epic Games, GOG, itch.io, Amazon Games, and the EA app.
Porthole can display owned games and download supported game files directly to the device.
You can also import compatible game folders or installers from the iOS Files app.
The application provides a game library with artwork, play time, settings, and controller configurations.
Players can use touchscreen controls or connect a supported game controller.
The latest major update also improves physical keyboard and mouse support, especially on iPad.
Porthole requires JIT to run games at useful speeds.
It includes an automatic JIT setup workflow, while other options such as StikDebug are also supported.
The app is not available through Apple's App Store because it uses private iOS interfaces.
Users must sign and install its IPA using a compatible method.
Porthole does not include copyrighted PC games or bypass game ownership checks.
It is an early project, and many Windows games still cannot run.
Some games require more memory than an iPhone or iPad can provide.
Other games depend on unsupported Windows features or anti-cheat systems.
Porthole is useful for experimenting with Windows gaming on iOS, but it is not yet a replacement for a Windows gaming PC.
Opens in the members area. The account is free.

Porthole certificate requirements
The full installation needs a certificate and provisioning profiles that support its app and extensions.
The developer recommends a paid Apple Developer account or a compatible trusted certificate service.
The relevant permissions include:
- Network Extension for a packet tunnel.
- Personal VPN.
- Increased Memory Limit.
- Extended Virtual Addressing.
- get-task-allow for development debugging.
A free Apple Account can run a limited setup, but some permissions and extensions must be removed.
The current v1.2 installation includes optional components for automatic JIT, a private network tunnel, download progress, and additional memory functionality.
How to install Porthole with fewer extensions
If your certificate cannot sign every extension, the developer allows a lighter installation.
For example, removing the download progress extension removes its special Lock Screen and Dynamic Island download card.
Removing the private tunnel extension requires an alternative such as LocalDevVPN.
Removing the built-in JIT helper requires another JIT tool.
Do not remove extensions randomly. Follow the current installation guide and keep the required bundle identifiers and provisioning profiles consistent.
