VidGrab

VidGrab can be installed on compatible iPhones and iPads using a supported IPA sideloading method.

You do not need a jailbreak to install the standard VidGrab IPA.

Installation steps:

1. Open Settings → General → About on your iPhone or iPad.
2. Check that your device is running iOS 15 or later.
3. Visit the official VidGrab GitHub releases page.
4. Open the VidGrab v1.3.6c release.
5. Download the available VidGrab IPA file.
6. Save the IPA to your iPhone or computer.
7. Open AltStore, Feather, Sideloadly or another compatible IPA installer.
8. Import the downloaded VidGrab IPA.
9. Follow the instructions to sign and install the application.
10. Open VidGrab from your Home Screen.
11. Allow any necessary Files or Photos permissions when requested.
12. Paste the URL of a video you are permitted to download.
13. Let VidGrab analyze the source.
14. Select the available video quality or audio format.
15. Start the download.
16. Open the Downloads or Library section to view the finished file.

How to install VidGrab with AltStore or Feather

VidGrab provides an official sideloading repository.

Add this source to your compatible installer:

After refreshing the source, choose VidGrab and follow the installation instructions.

How to install VidGrab with TrollStore

If your iOS version and device support TrollStore, download the appropriate TrollStore package from the developer's releases.

Install it through TrollStore and open VidGrab.

The TrollStore edition may include additional integration features that are not available through ordinary IPA signing.

How to install VidGrab on a jailbroken iPhone

Open Sileo and add the developer's repository:

Install the correct rootful, rootless or roothide package for your jailbreak.

How to download a video with VidGrab

Open VidGrab, paste a supported video URL and choose Download.

Select an available quality and format. The file will appear in your download manager.

Important: Some streaming websites restrict downloads, and protected content may not be accessible. Only save content when you have the necessary rights or permission.

VidGrab provides several tools for downloading, organizing and playing media on iPhone and iPad.

Subtitle generation can use considerable processing power, and the results may contain mistakes.

Enable the Wi-Fi-only setting to avoid downloading large files over mobile data.

Sleep Timer

Set a playback timer for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or stop at the end of a track.

Recent versions provide shuffle, repeat, gapless playback and crossfade settings.

Custom Themes

Version 1.3.6c introduces a theme gallery and tools for creating, exporting and importing custom color themes.

Backup and Restore

Back up supported settings, custom themes and saved playlists to a file for later restoration.

Automatic Download Engine Updates

VidGrab can update its download engine to improve compatibility when supported websites change.

Supported iOS Versions

The developer lists iOS 15 or newer:

1. iOS 15: Meets the developer's minimum requirement.
2. iOS 16: Included in the advertised range.
3. iOS 17: Included in the advertised range, with TrollStore compatibility depending on the exact firmware.
4. iOS 18: Included in the advertised range; the installation method must be compatible.
5. iOS 26: Within the advertised range.
6. iOS 27: Recent releases contain compatibility fixes, but not every build has been independently tested.

TrollStore Compatibility

TrollStore has its own firmware restrictions. Do not assume that every iOS version supported by VidGrab can install the TrollStore edition.

Important Limitations

Download availability depends on the website, original video quality and source restrictions.

VidGrab is not a DRM bypass tool and should not be described as able to download every protected streaming video.

If VidGrab is not installing, detecting videos or completing downloads, try these solutions.

VidGrab IPA Is Not Installing

Check whether the IPA downloaded completely and whether your signing tool supports the selected package.

VidGrab App Is Not Opening

Your app signature may have expired, or the IPA may be incompatible with your setup. Refresh or reinstall the app using a trusted installer.

Video Link Is Not Detected

Open the link in VidGrab's built-in browser or check that the URL leads to a supported, accessible video.

VidGrab Download Is Not Starting

The website may have changed how it delivers videos. Check for a download engine update in VidGrab settings.

Video Download Keeps Failing

Check your network connection, available storage and selected video quality. Try a lower available resolution.

4K Download Option Is Missing

The original video may not provide a 4K stream, or the available format may not be supported.

MP3 Conversion Is Not Working

Check whether the source provides accessible audio and whether the selected conversion format is supported.

Downloaded Video Has No Sound

The video and audio streams may not have merged correctly. Update the download engine and try processing the source again.

Video Does Not Play

Use the built-in Fix Playback option when available. The downloaded file may need repair or conversion.

Playlist Download Is Not Working

Confirm that the playlist is publicly accessible or otherwise authorized for your use. Some private or protected playlists may not be supported.

VidGrab Browser Is Not Downloading a Video

Allow the video page to load and begin playback. Some websites use unsupported players or protected media systems.

Auto Subtitles Are Not Working

Check whether the language model downloaded correctly and the selected video contains recognizable speech.

Auto Subtitles Make My iPhone Hot

On-device speech processing can be demanding. Use Balanced or Fast quality and avoid processing very long videos continuously.

Background Downloads Stop

iOS can suspend applications in the background. Keep VidGrab open for important transfers and check background download settings.

TrollStore Installation Is Not Working

Make sure your device and firmware support TrollStore. Otherwise, use a compatible ordinary IPA signing method.

VidGrab Crashes on iOS 27

Update to v1.3.6c or another developer-confirmed compatible release. Recent versions include fixes for crashes on iOS 27 and an iOS 27.2 beta Settings issue.

Theme Changes Are Not Saving

Check the active theme and custom theme settings. Use Backup and Restore if you have a saved configuration.

Private Vault Is Not Opening

Use the configured authentication method. Check the developer's recovery instructions before attempting to reset or remove private data.

Safety Tips

Download VidGrab from the developer's GitHub repository or authorized distribution sources. Avoid modified builds from unknown websites.

Only download videos and audio when you have the right to do so, and respect each website's terms and applicable copyright rules.
