What Is Fugu15 Max Jailbreak?

Fugu15 Max is an iOS 15 jailbreak developed by Lars Fröder, also known as opa334.

It was built using the original Fugu15 jailbreak project created by Linus Henze. Fugu15 Max added important features to make the jailbreak more useful for everyday iPhone and iPad users.

The tool supports selected Apple A12–A15 devices running iOS 15.0 through iOS 15.4.1.

Fugu15 Max uses a rootless jailbreak environment, meaning it can run compatible jailbreak tweaks without directly changing the main iOS system partition.

It also introduced ElleKit tweak support and improvements to the jailbreak environment.

Users can install the developer beta through TrollStore on compatible devices. After successfully jailbreaking, they can explore supported packages through Sileo.

However, Fugu15 Max was released as experimental software for developers. It was later renamed and publicly released as Dopamine Jailbreak.

For most users, Dopamine is the better choice because it replaced the unfinished Fugu15 Max beta and continued receiving improvements.

Install Sileo and Rootless Tweaks

Fugu15 Max introduced support for compatible jailbreak tweaks using ElleKit. After successful jailbreak setup, users can access Sileo and explore supported iOS 15 packages.

On-Device Jailbreak

Install Fugu15 Max using TrollStore and start the jailbreak directly from a compatible iPhone or iPad. A computer is not normally required each time the jailbreak is activated.

Restore Jailbreak After Restart

Fugu15 Max uses a semi-untethered jailbreak method. After restarting, users can open the installed jailbreak app again to reactivate the environment on supported devices.

How to Download and Install Fugu15 Max Jailbreak IPA

Fugu15 Max can be installed on compatible iPhones and iPads running iOS 15.0–15.4.1 using TrollStore.

Installation steps:

  1. Open Settings → General → About on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Check your device model and installed iOS version.
  3. Make sure your device supports Fugu15 Max.
  4. Install TrollStore using a compatible installation method.
  5. Download a verified Fugu15 Max beta IPA file.
  6. Save the IPA file to your iPhone.
  7. Open TrollStore and tap the + button.
  8. Select the downloaded Fugu15 Max IPA.
  9. Tap Install and complete the installation.
  10. Open Fugu15 Max from your Home Screen.
  11. Follow the app's instructions to start the jailbreak.
  12. If the process succeeds, complete the required restart and package manager setup.

Important: Fugu15 Max Beta 8 was a developer testing release. Some jailbreak features may fail, and the tool is no longer maintained under this name.

The developer warned that moving from the beta to the final jailbreak could require removing the existing jailbreak environment.

For a more complete jailbreak experience, use a compatible current Dopamine release instead.

Important: The device list describes eligible processor families, not individually verified combinations. Check your exact iPhone or iPad model and iOS version before using a beta jailbreak.

Fugu15 Max Troubleshooting and Common Problems

If Fugu15 Max is not installing or the jailbreak process fails, try the following checks.

Fugu15 Max IPA Is Not Installing

Make sure TrollStore is working correctly. Check that the downloaded IPA file is complete and your device is supported.

Fugu15 Max App Is Not Opening

Close and reopen the app. If the problem continues, check the installation and reinstall the verified IPA using TrollStore.

Jailbreak Process Failed

Confirm that your device runs iOS 15.0–15.4.1. Fugu15 Max is an older beta, and some jailbreak attempts may fail.

Wi-Fi Is Not Working

Early Fugu15-based builds had Wi-Fi-related problems. Check the release notes for your exact beta. Do not assume every reported fix is included in older versions.

iPhone Restarts Unexpectedly

Early Fugu15 development builds experienced system crashes and sleep-related problems. If this happens repeatedly, stop using the affected build and consider a more stable alternative.

Sileo Is Not Opening

Check whether the jailbreak completed successfully. Earlier betas had Sileo launch problems, and Beta 8 included an updated Sileo version.

Jailbreak Tweaks Are Not Working

Install only tweaks compatible with a rootless jailbreak and iOS 15. Older rootful packages may not work.

Jailbreak Not Working After Restart

Fugu15 Max is semi-untethered. Open the jailbreak app again and follow its instructions to restore the jailbreak environment.

Cannot Update to Dopamine

The developer warned that moving from the Fugu15 Max beta could require removing the existing bootstrap. Follow the documented removal process before switching.

Safety Tips

Back up important data, use trusted IPA files and avoid installing several untested tweaks together. Fugu15 Max is discontinued beta software with known historical stability issues.
